Merryvale VINEYARDS

The wines of Merryvale are inspired by the European sensibilities of René and Laurence Schlatter. Make no mistake; these are Napa Valley wines from hillside vineyards, meaning they’re powerful and concentrated. But the coolness of the sites in which they’re grown, and the work done in the winery to manage the tannings for approachability, creates wines with personality, texture, elegance and acidity. These wines are met to age gracefully. For this reason, the Schlatters tend to hold their Cabernet Sauvignons longer prior to release, giving them time to develop as they rest in bottle. Again, it goes back to the culture of wine in which they were raised.

Quintessa

Hidden in the heart of Rutherford, Quintessa is a 280 -acre site that reflects a diversity of geology, biodiversity, exposures and microclimates. Inspired by this distinct property, founders Agustin and Valeria Huneeus believe that it was destined to become one of the world’s great wine estates. Today, a total of 160 acres are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdo and Carménère on 26 vineyard blocks. Each block is farmed – organically and Biodynamic – harvested and vinified individually to preserve and enhance the nuances of the land.
